February 10, 2016 - At least one Turkish soldier and two PK-K militants were killed in the province of Diyarbakir. Earlier, the Turkish army said one of its soldiers was killed and another wounded in clashes with Kurdish militants in Shirnak province near the Syrian border. Over the past few months, Turkey’s mainly Kurdish southeastern regions have been the scene of clashes between Kurdish militants and the army, leading the government to impose multiple curfews across the south-east. The violence has left hundreds dead on both sides. Human Rights Watch has warned about the growing civilian death toll in Turkey's military operations. The human rights group has called on Ankara to scale back the security operations in Kurdish areas.
