No matter what place or situation you are in, who doesn't want some good luck? Today in our video, we will be discussing about few of the luck charms that are believed to turn your luck around, in a good way, of course! So, let's begin:
1. Acorn:
Acorns are a popular symbol of luck throughout europe. There ae many tales attached to it. Acorn is a nut of the oak tree and in norse folklore it is believed that Thor, the god of thunder, once rested under an oak tree during a storm and has been protecting oak trees ever since. So, in scandinavian countries, people used to place an acorn on their windowsills to protect their houses from being struck by lightening. Also, throughout europe, it is believed that carrying an acorn can heal illness, attract love, prosperity and luck.
2. Horseshoe:
Another most popular luck symbols is horseshoe. Horseshoe is believed to keep the devil at bay or in other words, it is believed to ward off evil and bring good luck. Since it is made of iron, it is believed that mischievous spirits can't get past it to harm you. Most people debate as to how a horseshoe should be hanged in the house. Some say that it should be hanged with the ends pointing upwards to keep your luck secure while others believe that hanging it with the ends pointing down ensures the downpour of luck in the house and its people.
3. Ladybug:
Lady bugs, also referred to as lucky bugs in Germany are a great symbol of good luck. It is believed that if a ladybug lands on your hand, you are going to get lucky. The intensity of your luck also depends on the number of spots the bug has, so the more, the merrier! Also, it is extreme bad luck to kill a ladybug even by mistake!
4. Four-leaf clover:
A four-leaf clover of the white clover plant is considered to be one of the luckiest symbols on the planet. And as it is, it is truly rare! Yes, it is not hard to find a clover but it is very very hard to find a natural four-leaved clover, as it is believed to be 1 in 10,000. It is said that the four leaves of the clover represent faith, hope, love and luck. Four cheers to that!
5. Goldfish:
Goldfish are not just beautiful but incredibly lucky as well. Every fish tank in the world essentially has a goldfish in it and for a good reason. The Chinese believed that the rich golden colour of the fish represents wealth and this belief soon spread accross the world.
6. Evil Eye Charm:
Now, this is a man-made charm which is believed to have originated in Turkey. The evil-eye talisman is said to protect its wearer from all sorts of negative forces and negative energies that are triggered by jealous people.
7. The Laughing Buddha:
The laughing buddha symbolises wealth and happiness! Did you know that the laughing buddha was actually a Buddhist monk named Quieci. Quieci was believed to be a very happy and joyful person who always smiled and laughed and spread happiness around him, and hence was nicknamed "Laughing Buddha". The laughing buddha is often portrayed as carrying a sack which signifies a surplus of wealth and abundance. It is believed that if you place a laughing buddha in your home, you will always be happy and wealthy.
8. Rainbow:
Whenever we see a rainbow, we are awestruck and can't help admire its beauty. We always think about a rainbow as a scientific wonder but did we dig deep into the magical meanings it represents? Of course, there are many meanings associated with a rainbow. The most common one being that if we reach to the end of a rainbow, we will find a pot of gold. A rainbow symbolises hope and a double rainbow indicates that a strong magical force is working for you and all your desires shall be fulfilled. So, the next time you see a rainbow, you have one more reason to cheer!
