The projections for the 2023 cola increase are in and some say they could be up to 12% for next year. The social security cost of living could be the largest increase since the 1980's but is it enough. The cola for 2023 might have to be offset by stimulus checks or Medicare premiums decreasing. Social security is a fantastic program but inflation is running higher than 20% on most items and seniors can tend to be on a low fixed income. Also, people on ssi and ssdi are waiting for an increase.
