In this tutorial I'll focus on the key to painting realistic animals in acrylics. Why the importance of lighting, contrast and values play such an important role in capturing the three dimensional look in any painting. A section of a Giraffe painting demonstrates this perfectly. This is my process regardless of the animal I am painting which makes the piece easier and less overwhelming to tackle.
