Interesting philosophical discussion. Do you weaken others by helping them? Do you steal their opportunity to strength by relieving them of their plight? Is it a matter of degree? Picking something off a high shelf for someone shorter weakens them? What if by not helping, the person dies? Strength means nothing once you're dead. Or does only the strong enough worthy of becoming stronger?
