Iraq’s Upcoming $17 BILLION Corridor That Will END The Suez Canal | Al Faw Port | Suez Canal Rival
For more than a century and a half, commerce between Europe and Asia has depended on navigating through the Suez Canal and Egypt. Recently, a new initiative was launched with the goal of altering trade routes, shifting the central hub away from Egypt to a different location. Iraq has embarked on an ambitious endeavour often referred to as a Modern Silk Road, envisioning an upgraded network of highways and railways extending from the Persian Gulf through Baghdad, Turkey, and into Europe. This megaproject comes with a price tag of $17 billion and includes the construction of one of the world's largest ports.
