We were invited to Optima Ultimate Street Car Challenge and didn't know what to expect.
It was a surprisingly fun event with heaps of different driving activities and wide variety of sport performance cars.
And I’m very proud of how the little 86 performed! ✌️
Thanks to all that came said hi and visited our stand.
Auto Cross - This was a fun layout and trying to keep my drift 86 straight was a handful.
I came 2nd in my class for this activity which was surprising.
I missed the briefing where they must of told us to slalom down hill around the cones, so I guess I didn't really place 2nd, haha.
Speed Stop - The 86 with its drift setup really struggled with this activity. Low traction on the unprepped drag strip and no abs plus lots of front negative camber meant the 86 was stopping quickly either.
So I decided to be silly on my last run and took out a cone 😅
Hot Lap - Agian I had low expectation with my 86 set up for drift but it was surprising fun catching up to a Dodge Challenger Hellcat SRT around Calder Park National Circuit.
I wonder how much quick the 86 would be with a proper grip set up.
Drag Race - Again, very low expectations and not very keen but after the first run it was so much fun!
No clue what I was doing or what the lights on the Christmas tree meant I botch my first run.
My second run I beat @summernats bosses mustang on the 1/8 mile and lost by 0.5aec on the 1/4 mile.
Again very surprised how the 86 didn’t do too badly.
Thanks to @chick_durbz for the fun times.
