(18 Oct 1956) Far away to the West of Dar-es-Salaam, tribesmen and women awaited the visit of the Princess. On arrival, she was received by the Provincial Commissioner, of the Southern Highlands Province. A great welcome had been organised at Mbeya. It was the Princess's first stop on her inland tour of the country. She drove around the arena to acknowledge the acclamation.
