We get a lot of questions here at SwissWatchExpo about our Omegas and the clasps that they use and how to use them effectively. This is a particular issue with only one series of watch that we like to describe. It's very difficult to do over the phone if you haven't seen this in person. So the first thing I'm going to do is I'm going to pick this up and I want to show you that it is the deploying clasp. Now why this is important is this particular clasp requires a very solid push. If you don't get it down just right on your wrist, it won't clasp very well. It won't securely clasp, and you may find that it pops open. Now, one of the other issues that you may experience with this watch, this does have a divers clasp, and that means that it's extendable.
So when you pull it out, it gives you extra room so that if you happen to use it as an actual dive watch, you've got extra room to get it over your wet or dry suit. Now, this particularly becomes an issue. If you've pulled this out, what happens is you'll need to fold that back down into the actual clasp here. So the way that we're going to do that is we're going to open this up. Now this particular clasp has a lip here on the edge, and it's a little bit difficult to see, but it's right there on the edge. In order to get that put down correctly, you want to lay this piece down and you want to, you want to give that angle on it because there's a lip there that'll prevent that from laying flat. If you don't put that in there flat, this clasp won't close properly, and I'll demonstrate that.
I'm going to actually do it improperly so that you can see that clasp was not laid down there, see how the lip is still above. Now it'll snap in, but when you go to lay the clasp down, it won't close properly on your wrist. So you'll need to disassemble, and then properly insert and lay down, and then snap in. You'll notice that this particular piece, this particular piece here, it's good and [flush] and you don't see that lip that's on the edge of that divers clasp and extension. This is unique to this 300M Seamaster. So if you have any questions about that, and if your clasp wasn't acting right, that could be the cure to your issue. This is the Omega 300M SwissWatchExpo. If you have any questions, give us a call.
