To celebrate our second wedding anniversary my husband and I decided to explore the island province of Guimaras. We have been there a couple of times but we opted to try some new places it can offer.
First stop was lunch at Olivia's Kitchen. It's a newly opened restaurant in San Miguel. It has this homey and rustic vibe. The food was great and not too expensive. We will definitely go back there again.
Next destination was Andana Resort in Nueva Valencia. It's not officially open but they were able to accommodate us for a one night stay. Some of the amenities were not yet available like cable and wifi in some areas nonetheless it generally didn't affect our entire stay. It was amazing! It's like we had the resort all to ourselves with only a couple of guests who were checked in during that time. The resort had this luxurious, tropical and Greece-inspired theme which was reflected all over the place. The staffs were warm and welcoming as well.
Room: We stayed in one of their beach pods. It's a kind of room near the beach and can accommodate 2-3 guests. It was rather small and a little far from the main building (a lot of stairs to take) but really cozy. The room also had plenty of storage space. Despite the size and location of the room, the sea view was just breathtaking.
Food: We ordered steamed vegetables with oyster sauce, fish with mango salsa and honey flavored buffalo wings for dinner. I personally liked their chicken, it was tangy and sweet while my husband was impressed with their oyster sauce. It goes well with the vegetables. We had complimentary Filipino breakfast the next morning at Danilo's, their in-house beach bar.
If you want to have a glimpse of this resort, I believe they also offer day tour packages.
I hoped you all enjoyed watching!
