Shishir Sharma started his career five decades ago with a play Sambhog se Sanyaas Tak, which incidentally was a play where Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak Shah met and fell in love. The legendary Satyadev Dubey had spotted him and told the rather reticent and shy Shishir Sharma that he would not relent till he made him act onstage and he did. Sharma has been part of the theatre scene in Mumbai, various ads and television serials before his foray into cinema and OTT series as well as short films. At the Ted X at Shoolini University this May, he was a speaker and so was I and we reconnected. Shishir Sharma has two daughters and four grand children based in Dubai and comes here very often. In fact, he shot an ad here recently. In conversation with the actor who we have recently seen in Raazi, Uri and several other films. He has had the chance to don the army uniform in several of his projects since he looks the part. A businessman and an actor, Shishir Sharma balances both worlds with ease and panache.
