A man convicted of being involved in serious organised crime has been sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow today (Monday 2 September 2019).

Joseph Lindsay was arrested in Tenerife in December 2018 in relation to his involvement in one of Scotland's major crime groups that operated across the UK, Europe and South America.

The 34-year-old pled guilty at the High Court in Edinburgh on 2 August 2019. Today he was sentenced to four-and-a-half years in prison.

The investigation into Lindsay was part of Operation Escalade, an ongoing investigation into one of the country's top-tier serious organised crime groups.
