Brazilian singer Marília Mendonça dies in plane crash on way to concert
Marlia Mendonça, a Latin Grammy winner and one of Brazil's most popular singers, was died in a plane crash on her way to a concert.
The 26-year-old music sensation died along with her producer, uncle, who served as her mentor, and the plane's captain and co-pilot.
Their jet crashed between Goiânia, Mendonça's hometown, and Caratinga, a small hamlet 220 miles north of Rio de Janeiro. The plane was around 7 kilometres from Caratinga, where she was performing that night.
Hours before her death, Mendonça released a video to her 38 million Instagram followers showing her walking toward her plane while holding a guitar case.
