Hi, I'm Matt Eickman I'm the owner of Abra Kadabra Environmental Services. We're a second generation family owned and environmentally conscious pest and wildlife control company. Today I'm gonna talk about trapping squirrels out of a soffit area that we've been getting some reports from a client.
A lot of red squirrels, it sounds like going in and out of the. Uppermost peak on the home. So that should be a fun one. This is a great trap for a set when you've identified the particular entry point to the squirrel den. Or that primary entry location. The E 40 excluder also comes in the squirrel pack combo here with this squirrel combo.
The E 40 allows the squirrels to leave through a first trap. That first trap door can lead right into this secondary trap, or essentially you can just install that E 40 if you're just trying to evict those the current resident squirrels and not actually physically remove those animals from the location.
Really all the exterior protruding beams from the soffit, there were some non marks around it. We did also identify some droppings and rub marks, things like that that really indicated the amount of activity in those areas. Once we did that, we obviously made the trap selection here because it is such a high location, we wanted to make it a really quick set so our guys aren't spending a lot of time up there on the roof.
So there's four mounting wings on the E 40 excluder and that allows us to really quickly install. And when you're installing that, you wanna make sure that you're not just putting something that's just barely covering the. Covering a good amount so that you're not gonna have a nah in right next to your trap.
So with these repeating doors, you can catch more than one squirrel. That's why it's called a repeating trap. It's pretty straightforward if you have the right tools and you can get to the location. But it's not always easy to know what tools you need to have and be able to get to the location.
That's kind of what we specialize. Take a lot of pride in what we do also, so we like to use the best possible traps on the market.
