Time to roost! And you probably will - when you've watched and listened to this. See it as a piece of late-evening therapy!
If you are fascinated by these murmurations then you've probably seen much better. But these are special for me, just a mile from home as the crow flies, although probably somewhat longer if you are one of these starlings. This spectacle of nature has been a part of the guaranteed late-afternoon activity this autumn. They seem to like the inactive and current gravel pits and the former workings now developing into a treasured nature reserve - in a location near the Cambridgeshire/Lincolnshire border. Thank you Tarmac and to the local wildlife support group for its creation.
I hadn't realised the Moon was so unstable - obviously my fault for choosing not to carry a tripod on the bike rack. The almost-stable scenes are thanks to a beanbag resting on the upturned bike. Improvisation.
"Starling Murmurations I" had a natural soundtrack of gently gurgling water - but people suggested it was me having a bath. So I hope you approve of the accompanying music - "Wandering Soul" by Asher Fulero. asherfulerosolo.bandcamp.com
Plenty of other videos in the DBLM Wildlife collection.....typing 'DBLM Wildlife' into Google/Youtube ought to bring some results.
Thank you for viewing - and please feel very welcome to share the link!
