Quality Council of India (QCI) has been commissioned by the Ministry of Urban Development to carry out the Swachh Bharat Mission-Open Defecation Free Assessment in 4041 cities in India.
For the assessment to be initiated ULBs need to completed these two steps
First step is Self-Declaration by Municipality as Open Defecation Free
Second step is to upload required documentation on QCI Portal.
The link of the portal and the login ID and Password required for the ULB to login will be provided by QCI through E-Mail. The ULBs are required to submit the answers of the questionnaire and attach relevant documents where required.
After completing these steps the Third Party Inspection will be conducted which includes two aspects, Document Check and On-Ground Observations.
Based on the results of these assessments, QCI will issue Swachhata certificate.
The certificate when issued will be valid for only 6 months and will thus need to be re-certified every 6 months.
