The Lee County Sheriff’s Office has concluded an investigation involving a subject impersonating a law enforcement officer. Members of the LCSO Community Response Unit (CRU) received information and complaints that Christopher Ted Duluk DOB 4/14/89 was operating his 2009 Bentley in a reckless manner, and was utilizing a police siren and lights to maneuver around traffic and to intimidate other motoring citizens in the community. Duluk also reportedly attempted a traffic stop on a motorist, utilizing lights and sirens, but drove off at a high rate of speed when the citizen pulled over.
Detectives began investigating, and discovered that Duluk’s 2009 Bentley had a yellow State of Florida license plate attached to it. The license plate also contained a license plate frame, which was equipped with several LED police-style lights. Duluk is not a state employee, and he is not authorized to operate any state vehicles or be in possession of a State of Florida license plate.
Based on the investigation, detectives obtained a felony arrest warrant for Duluk which includes the criminal charge of Falsely Impersonating a Law Enforcement Officer, pursuant to F.S.S. 843.08, a 3rd degree felony.
CRU members subsequently executed the arrest warrant at Duluk’s residence, 13435 Little Gem Circle, Fort Myers, where he was taken into custody. Upon searching Duluk’s vehicle, detectives located a speed measurement device similar to what is commonly used by law enforcement. Detectives also observed police-style antennas mounted on the 2009 Bentley. Duluk was arrested and charged accordingly.
Pursuant to the Florida Contraband Forfeiture Act, and the fact that Duluk utilized his 2009 Bentley to aid in the commission of a felony, detectives seized the Bentley for forfeiture.
