At the boats.com YJA Yachtsman of the Year Awards 2014, both young and old sailors were put in the spotlight, proving yet again the lifetime values and opportunities of the sport.

Sir Robin Knox-Johnston won the Yachtsman of the Year Award at the age of 75, having just finished third in the Route du Rhum, a singlehanded Transatlantic Race. Winning the other major award - the Young Sailor of the Year Award - was Emma Wilson, at 15 years, the world champion windsurfer in the Under 19 age group.

The presentation was made by boats.com's president Ian Atkins and Bob Fisher, chairman of the YJA at a gala lunch Trinity House in London.
