A high-speed, high-intensity demonstration of the Zipper Drill, alternating backwards-diagonal butterfly movement, by Swedish goalie Joakim Strandberg. While the sheer speed and fluidity is impressive, it does make it a little overwhelming. What can clearly be seen is that each movement is generated by a very short, precise backward C-cut from the butterfly -- an excellent illustration of how skating fundamentals translate even to seemingly advanced goaltending movements. In addition, the use of C-cuts rather than straight pushes against the length of the skate-blade allows Strandberg to perform this movement with minimal rotation of his core, maintaining remarkable stability; even so, a more disciplined stick in the five-hole would be ideal.
