Chaos Cannon isn't the only thing that can skip Neo Exdeath. I used Power Cannon in this example, but I'm pretty sure any status-inflicting 'Cannon' is capable of getting the same results, as long as the target is immune to said status, and probably if it's already inflicted with it. The same logic applies to counters, if an enemy is immune to a status from a Combine attack, then the enemy won't counter. Fascinating.
