🍪 🥛 A cookie carryover from Christmas. With structured light (or blue light) scanning, we were able to help Santa’s elves get their cookies made with a new cookie mold.
Blue light is an optical, non-contact technology. Here, it projects a fringe pattern across the mould’s surface. Two cameras capture the displacement to calculate the 3D coordinate measurements. As you can see here, there’s a quick flash as it captures millions of points per scan of the volumetric area. The end result? An accurate and dense point cloud.
