In June 2024, songwriters from across North America gathered to write songs inspired by Christ’s last words on the cross. Jesus’ confidence in God in Luke 23:46—“Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!”—reveals his complete peace in the midst of trial and pain.
Our hope is that this song builds up the church and reminds us that Christ is our only true assurance. His faithfulness and sacrifice on the cross give us confidence in our identity as children of God. Because of what he endured, we can have unwavering hope through our Prince of Peace.
