The new built coast road allows fast access from the United Arab Emirates. To build this road, massive cuts had to be made in the rock walls. As a result, the street runs along steep and sometimes vertical rock cliffs of up to several hundred meters height- which in turn leads to a massive risk of falling rocks for road traffic.Therefore rockfall barriers were installed over a length of approximately 1.5 kilometers. Their energy absorption capacity ranges from 1000 kJ up to 8000 kJ. The posts were up to 9 meters high, which was particularly challenging for the installation staff.
