Ingredients:
Crab - 500gm
Salt - 1/2 table spoon
Turmeric - 1/2 table spoon
Onion paste (using 2 medium sized onions)
Green chili paste - 1 table spoon
Mustard oil - 6 table spoon
Star anise - 1 piece (optional)
Red chili - 1 piece
Bay leaves - 1 piece
Cinnamon stick - 1/2 piece
Cardamom - 2 pieces
Coconut milk - 250ml
Garam masala - 1/4 table spoon
Lemon leaves - 3 leaves
Masala ingredients:
Salt - 1/2 table spoon
Turmeric - 1/2 table spoon
Kashmiri red chili powder - 1/2 table spoon
Cumin powder - 1 table spoon
Coriander powder - 1 table spoon
Ginger garlic paste - 2 table spoon
Garam masala -1/4 table spoon
Crab in India is also called as kakra / khekda / shimori.
Crab using coconut milk are being prepared in many costal areas across India, although the prep style differs place to place. This is an authentic bengali crab curry recipe where first we shallow fried the crabs then it's cooked using coconut milk, onion & masalas until oil separates, which is then enjoyed with plain rice.
