Deepavali Festival Village - Little India Singapore | Chats with our migrant workers #diwali
The Deepavali festival village features a vibrant and colorful marketplace, showcasing a wide variety of traditional Indian clothing, accessories, decorations, and handicrafts. Visitors can shop for special Deepavali outfits, jewelry, home decorations, and gifts for loved ones. There are also stalls offering delicious Indian snacks and sweets.
Join me to walk through Deepavali Festival Village to have an immersive experience. Singapore has 1.5 million migrant workers, most of whom are from India and Bangladesh. These folks come down to Little India on their weekend day-off to meet friends and have their favourite food. I spoke to several of them. They are all very friendly and appreciative of getting work in Singapore. Each person has a story to tell.
I visited a shop selling naan and meats. They let me record their process of naan making. This shop is at the junction of Campbell Lane and Clive Street. Do visit them if you like naan.
