Inji Chammanthi
Ingredients
1. Coconut – 1 cup (approx.)
2. Salt – to taste
3. Red chilli – 6 to 8 nos
4. Ginger - 1” piece
5. Shallots – 3 to 4
6. Tamarind – gooseberry size
7. Curry leaves – 2 twigs
8. Lemon leaf( opt) - 2 to 3
Preparation
1. Grind red chilli & salt preferably on the grinding stone, grind in tamarind also.
2. Grind in all the other ingredients & lastly crush in the two different leaves.
3. Mix well & take out as a ball.
(Can be ground in the mixie also.)
Chuttaracha Chammanthi
Ingredients
1. Coconut pieces – 2 to 3 (half portion of a coconut half)
2. Salt – to taste
3. Red chilli – 6 to 8 nos
4. Ginger - 1” piece
5. Shallots – 3 to 4
6. Tamarind – gooseberry size
7. Curry leaves – 2 twigs
8. Lemon leaf( opt) - 2 to 3
Preparation
1. Fry the piece of coconut in fire , till red chop & pulse in the mixie / grind stone.
2. Then grind adding salt & chillies, followed by the other ingredients & finishing off with the lemon leaf & curry leaves sprinkling water if needed.
