Photometry (photo=light; metry=measurement) means measurement of light intensity. It is the most commonly used analytical technique in clinical biochemistry.

There are six types
1- Colorimetry and Spectrophotometry
2- Flame Emission Spectrophotometry
3- Atomic absorption Spectrophotometry
4- UV- Visible Spectrophotometry
5- Fluorometry
6- Nephlometry and Turbidimetry
