At Least 79 Dead After Fishing Boat Carrying Migrants Sinks Off Greece
A fishing boat carrying migrants sank off the coast of Greece on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. At least 79 people have died and 104 have been rescued.
The boat was carrying an estimated 200 people when it capsized. The survivors were taken to the Greek town of Kalamata.
The cause of the sinking is still under investigation. However, it is believed that the boat was overloaded and that the weather conditions were rough.
