This video was created to show you the conditions you may meet if you get caught in, or venture out into high winds in Snowdonia, Wales, UK.
It was filmed on the Miners Trail, Pen Y Pass, Wales on the 07/12/24 where the highest wind speed was recorded (93 mph, Snowdon summit) throughout the UK.
With Scrambling not being an option, we went to experience what mountain conditions were like in a storm and to test equipment in readiness for bigger adventures in the future.
I do not recommend that anyone should venture out into these conditions.
Lakes turned into rough seas and people were lifted from their feet and somersaulted down the mountain.
A video will follow showing 5 tips I learnt, in order to survive in a storm. (You can find it coming soon on my channel, subscribe to get a notification).
These include: Use use of Ski goggles, walking poles, wind eddies, weather report interpretation and more…
