Governor Mathur Inspires Graduates at Sikkim Professional University’s 8th Convocation
Sikkim Professional University: The 8th convocation of Sikkim Professional University was held on 17 December at Chintan Bhawan, Gangtok under the chief patronage of Governor of Sikkim Om Prakash Mathur. On this occasion, the Hon'ble Governor delivered the convocation address and congratulated the graduating students who received their degrees at the convocation and encouraged the graduating students to work for the development of the country and society.
Governor Mathur emphasized on the role and expected contribution of teachers for imparting cultured education and also emphasized on the idea of Vasudev Kutumbakam. He threw light on the history of India.
Said to contribute to developed India
He invited the youth to make all efforts to use their knowledge and experience and solve the issues surrounding it to achieve the goal of a developed India by 2047. He highlighted the NEP – 2020 policy and motivated the students to read good literature and do self-study.

On this occasion, Chairman of Sikkim Professional University, Shri Hemant Goyal expressed his gratitude to the Governor. He mentioned the support of Chief Minister of Sikkim Shri Prem Singh Tamang and his Government for extending all support to develop Gangtok and Budang Campuses of Sikkim Professional University. He also informed about the many awards received by the University.
In the program, Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. H.S. Yadav highlighted the activities of the University and informed that SPU is geared up to provide quality education in BA and MA in Nursing, GNM, B.Sc Nursing, B Pharm, D Pharm, BPT, BMLT, DMLT, LLB and many other UG and PG programs in College of Arts and Science, BSV, MSc, Environmental Science, MBA.
The program started and ended with the Academic Procession Procession. At the beginning of the program, Registrar of Sikkim Professional University, Prof. Ramesh Kumar Rawat introduced the Chief Guest of the program and Hon'ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur. At the end of the program, Registrar Prof. Ramesh Kumar Rawat expressed his gratitude to everyone.
