BR two tone green Class 47/8 No 47815 ‘Great Western’ is seen on ‘full power’ as it accelerates through Olton, Solihull at the head of the ‘Northern Belle’, which is working 1Z10 0710 Hull to Winchester. In the rather less inspiring West Coast maroon livery fellow 47/8 No 47826 is on the rear.
Shortly afterwards Freighliner Class 70 no 70011 heads southbound on the 0850 Crewe to Southampton liner train as a Birmingham to Marylebone ‘Chiltern’ 6 car set heads south to Marylebone.
