In this video, join us to introduce you a gorgeous city sits in the country’s central Anatolia region, 'Ankara' which is Turkey’s cosmopolitan capital. It is good to know that you can experience to reach this nice city easily in around 3.5 hours by Turkish high-speed train (YHT) from Istanbul. This video was recorded in the heart of 'Ankara', 'Kizilay', one of the most famous district of the Capital and on 19 May 2024 which is a national holiday as 'The Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day' (in Turkish as 'Atatürk'ü Anma, Gençlik ve Spor Bayramı). Join me as I explore the bustling streets, local markets, and vibrant city center. It was also the football match between two main teams of Turkey, Galatasaray & Fenerbahçe according to Turkish Super league, so the streets had another vibrant.
Kızılay is a bustling district with a lot of shops, restaurants, cafes, and historical buildings. In Kızılay, you can find the main bus terminal of Ankara, as well as several metro stations, making it a hub for transportation in the city. It's also home to many government buildings and embassies. Kızılay Square alongside Taksim Square in Istanbul can be one of the main gathering places. Around the square are many charming alleys full of cafés and restaurants. Kizilay is a popular area, close to many attractions and excellent transportation links in the center of Ankara.
One of the oldest settlements in Anatolia, Ankara's history dates back to around 2000 BC. It has been ruled by Hittites, Phrygians, Lydians, Persians, Macedonians, Romans, Byzantines, and Ottomans, among others. Ankara was declared the capital by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey.
