The items you will need for this experiment are: Some water, isopropanol/rubbing alcohol, 2 beakers or glass jars, strawberry, shampoo or washing liquid, table salt, kitchen roll and a food bag,
1. Pour 90ml of water into a beaker
2. Add a small amount of shampoo and table salt to the water
3. Stir gently so you don't create any bubbles
4. Mash up 2 or 3 strawberries in a zip-lock food bag
5. Put a small amount of rubbing alcohol into an empty beaker.
6. Put your strawberry solution inside some kitchen towels to form a 'parcel' and then squeeze the liquid out into the beaker with the rubbing alcohol
7. Now pour about a centimeter layer of water on top of the strawberry solution.
8. You should now see some white strands of polymer floating at the top of the water. That is the strawberries DNA
Live Experiments: Our resident daredevil science fiends will give the YouTube audience their big science treat each week with an experiment where you can find out how to make food dance, power a light bulb with household objects and create mega smoke rings!
