I had a really off the beaten path adventure and finally made it to Casamassima - the blue city. It was an adventure in many ways. I’m glad I went. Let’s just say that there isn’t a whole lot to see, but it was a good experience to see a very small town. I could have explored more, but I felt like I got some good photos and saw what I wanted to see, and I wanted to return to Bari to eat lunch. My lunch plans didn’t go as expected, but I ended up finding a good Japanese restaurant in Murat (new Bari).
One of the things I’ve liked about Bari is the availability of lots of different types of food. I’ve had sushi delivered several times (by Glovo) and also got a kebab. Bari is also very well-connected by train to other parts of Puglia, and other parts of Italy. It has made a great base for many reasons.
I hope you enjoy this short video. I thought I recorded more video in Casamassima, but I’m not sure what happened. Instead, I’m sharing some of the photos I took. It felt old and poor and I felt like I was intruding in someone’s home. I only saw a few people in the old town, and no one gave me a hard time - I’m not sure Americans would be as receptive to a stranger walking through their neighborhood with a camera, especially in a small rural place.
I’m winding down my stay in Puglia and I’ve had some great adventures. Thanks for watching!
