Béla Bartók has been an enormous influence in my writing, in my sound... how meticulous his music was, how detailed... simply flawless. I felt so identified by his life, his compositional process, his perseverance...

I wanted to interpret one of his major works on the drum set, treating it as part of the quartet, part of the orchestration. I wanted to experience him, and, I must say, it's been such an incredible and challenging performance.

I dedicate this to one of my favorite drum teachers Billy Kilson, who showed me a cleaner path towards my own voice.
