The Dimapur Naga Students Union President Moayanger Jamir and General Secretary, Sedelo T Vadeo while highlighting on AFSPA said that the act brought humiliation and oppression to Nagas. President said that the law was passed with intention & evil design to crush Nagas aspiration in 1958. AFSPA is an inhuman licence to kill innocent Nagas by Indian armed forces under grounds of mere suspicion. Many Nagas were killed, tortured, humiliated, raped & disappeared. The recent Oting-Tiru massacre was humiliating, hurting & painful as it acted as a grief reminder of agony & sufferings of the Nagas. President stated that forefathers considered Indian security forces as foreign terrorists. However, despite gruesome memories, Nagas forgive Indian security forces in the interest of peace for Nagas’ future. Meanwhile, DNSU G.S, Sedelo T Vadeo questioned the Indian government for extension of AFSPA for 6 months and said that it was an insult & ignorance to the Nagas. He stated that section 4 of the act results in violation of fundamental rights of citizens and that the Indian government cannot make Nagaland a ground to practise AFSPA
