Heated argument over Madurai AIIMS : DMK MPs staged walkout | Dt Next
Chaos erupted in the Lok Sabha on Feb. 10, over Union Health Minister Mansukh L. Mandaviya's response to a question asked by DMK’s T.R. Baalu on the setting up of medical colleges in the country.
"I won't allow such medical colleges to operate where there is no adequate faculty and infrastructure." Work is underway on establishing AIIMS Madurai. "Don't make health an issue of politics," the health minister says.
Members of the Congress and DMK staged a walkout from the Lok Sabha in protest against the reply of the Union Health Minister on AIIMS Madurai.
An argument had earlier broken out between the minister and DMK MPs over the establishment of medical colleges.
