Another of China’s sanctions has been lifted, this time on the export of Australian hay.
It’s been confirmed on Thursday afternoon that exports of Aussie hay to Chinese ports will resume in coming weeks.
This follows the lifting of other sanctions on products like coal, cotton and timber, but they remain in place on some other items, like Australian wine.
Before the pandemic, the hay trade with China was worth around $160 million a year.
It marks another major development in trade relations with China.
