Today, I explain the importance of pre-emergent, and how I am doing a secondary application of pre-emergent. Pre-emergent creates a barrier that prevents weeds like crabgrass (and so many other weeds) from germinating, saving you time dealing with weeds later. Apply when soil temperatures reach 70 degrees; don't apply on saturated ground. I'm also fertilizing with a balanced 10-10-10 formula to nourish grass through fall.
