NOTE: note that this was one of the first videos of this machine. I could not be expected to know a product that hadn't even been released yet! ( NAMM Beta ) Please don't post childish comments.
Testing the NEW Zoom Arq, round groove machine, I made this simple musical interlude, and recorded the audio at line level into my classic Zoom H2 recorder. ; - ) Yes, this is a bold new product category for Zoom, and a futuristic design, which wraps the 32 steps of the sequence around a wireless Ring, instead of the usual row of buttons going from left to right. ( The Ring also has 3 rows of lighted buttons, so the total is 96 ! ) This is a radical new shape for a groovebox which has similar sonic function to a Novation Circuit, or Korg Electribe. ( People may compare the unique lighted shape to a Tenori-on, this is valid. )
This was a unique surprise to arrive at the NAMM show, and we'll certainly be watching for the release in March! ( The OS was not complete on this prototype unit, functions are still to be added, including an Audio Looper! Yes, there is a Ring Modulator, if you wanted to know. )
All demonstration music was created by VJ Franz K on the spot. This is a journalistic pre-review of the Zoom ARQ synthesizer,, and I have permission from Zoom for this video.
