Mount Shuksan
Fisher Chimneys
Elevation Gain: 6,750 ft
High Point: 9,127 ft
Location: Whatcom County, Washington
Team: Adam Mitchell, Bryce Mitchell (Adam's brother), Brooke Whitcher
We chose this mountain as our first unguided mountaineering experience because of its’ diversity of terrain and skill, which required hiking, glacier travel, scrambling and rock climbing. As an introduction to the North Cascades, this climb did not disappoint
Permits are required year around for all overnight stays in the backcountry in the North Cascades. We love this concept, as it prevents overcrowding, resource damage, and allows more opportunity for solitude in the mountains. For more information, check out [ Ссылка ].

Lessons Learned
* A packed cooler in the car with extra drinks, food, and beer would have been nice
* The more minimal the better, as you are carrying a heavy pack while climbing
*Give your team members plenty of space on the Chimneys and Summit Pyramid because of loose rock
*Start as early as possibly on the third day
