If your remote key fob has a dead or bad battery or is otherwise broken, the DIC in your Chevrolet Malibu may display NO REMOTE DETECTED or NO REMOTE KEY WAS DETECTED PLACE KEY IN TRANSMITTER POCKET THEN START YOUR VEHICLE. The REPLACE BATTERY IN REMOTE KEY message may also be displayed at this time.
To start the Chevy Malibu with No Remote Detected:
1. Place the remote key fob in the Malibu's remote fob pocket- located in the cupholder.
2. Start the Chevrolet Malibu as you normally would.
