Evil genius or moron? 2 steps away from proving which one of those describes me best 🤓 #EVdrift build series on the YouTube @PartsShopMax channel has the ep.11 Limited slip diff install & in ep.12 Solid drive unit mounts #TM3YSDUB4 plus solid subframe riser mounts #TM3SFR added to my daily driver, & all steps to join that rear sus and drivetrain back into the ‘24 #TeslaModel3Performance chassis. ☑️ I’ve been enjoying hearing the increased sound levels from the rear motor and gearbox so far. Stay tuned for what’s next in the quest to burn rubber, not fuel: 1️⃣ Hand brake is up next, which is slightly challenging without a tranny tunnel to mount a hand brake base. 2️⃣ Extra steering angle would be nice but the stock steering angle is not bad. Perhaps a more do or die experiment (after the hand brake) would be deleting the front motor since rumor has it, the track mode rear bias isn’t really 100% RWD but also heard something more absolute can be done in toolbox 3. I’m willing to try both or leave it as-is for “control” in the scientific method, but I prefer to start off without any power driving the front, since I’ve never drifted anything with AWD.
Tesla model 3 aftermarket upgrades so far are solid drive unit and subframe mounts as well as a rear limited slip differential. (check the solid mount install vid linked in this short)
Stay tuned because up next for the true coilover suspension install as well as all rear rubber suspension joints replaced with spherical bearings.
