The schedule for the upcoming Champions Trophy has been finalized, with India-Pakistan matches set to be held in the UAE. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has agreed to play the matches in Dubai, bowing to pressure from India. The 50-over matches will take place in the UAE under a "hybrid model" that will see the rest of the tournament being played in Pakistan, who retain their hosting rights for the Champions Trophy. PCB spokesperson Amir Meer confirmed the agreement, noting that if the tournament were to be postponed, PCB would incur a $60 million loss in hosting fees, which would significantly impact their annual revenue. The ICC Champions Trophy tournament is scheduled from February 19th to March 9th. India has not played a match in Pakistan since the 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks, making this a significant development. The Champions Trophy returns to the ICC calendar for the first time since 2017, when Pakistan won the tournament in England. Notably, in the 2023 Asia Cup, which Pakistan hosted under a hybrid model, India played all their matches in Sri Lanka.
