Artistro very kindly sent me this 48 watercolour paint set, it's beautifully presented in a velvet draw string bag, with Artistro embroidered across in gold thread. The watercolour paints come in a muted pink tin, with 10 sheets of watercolour paper, a swatch test and a printed acetate sheet with each of the paint colours. Within the set you also get an eraser, a 2B pencil, a water brush, a little paint brush and a sponge.
To start off I swatch each of the colours on the watercolour paper swatch sheet. The paper for the swatch is good quality and the paints sit well on it. I'm really keen on the greens and blues with in this watercolour set.
The watercolour paper is an excellent size to experiment on, I'm working on a portrait in this vide, which isn't something I practice a whole lot. So working on the smaller scale seems less intimidating. I have painted a typical 'pretty girl' painting and added some of the blue tones within the skin tone. I finish the painting off with an orange background to compliment the blues.
