Welcome to Storm King Mountain State Park in Orange County New York. In today's hike we will be reviewing and exploring the Storm King Loop Trail, which starts at a parking area on route 9W and makes a loop up and over the summit of Storm King with lot's of views of the Hudson River and surrounding Hudson Highlands. Storm King State Park is approximately 56 miles north of New York City and rises steeply from the west bank of the river. Highlights of the hike include several rock scrambles, and many encompassing views along with open rock faces. This hike is very popular and for good reason, so be sure to arrive early or during a weekday if possible.
