(28 Oct 2020) A protest was held in Prague on Wednesday over the restrictive measures imposed by the Czech government to curb a record surge of coronavirus infections.
In the hard-hit Czech Republic, gatherings of more than two people are banned, if they are not from one household.
But up to 100 people can still demonstrate if they are divided into separated groups of 20 and all wear face masks.
After some 100 gathered at the Republic Square, police sealed the crowd off.
Others who wanted to join the protest had to remain behind the police cordon.
Coronavirus infections in the Czech Republic hit a new record high of 15,663 on Tuesday.
The hard-hit country has had over 280,000 confirmed cases, with over half of them registered in the last two weeks.
