Couldn't resist the opportunity to come home on this when I saw it on Aer Lingus' website. Their largest aircraft, the Airbus A330-300 on a Heathrow flight. Funnily enough during the pandemic Aer Lingus have used an A330 on their evening flight between Dublin & London quite often, mainly to carry cargo & goods in the hold with the reduced number of flights between the UK & Ireland, one big aircraft a day seems to take all the cargo between the two.
For 44 Euros to get myself on the "Green Giant" I thought why not. The had just 36 passengers onboard, meaning plenty of room for social distancing and I had booked myself in 9A just in front of the engine. Unfortunately it was dark, so not many views once in flight, but during the take off and initial climb as well as the approach over London the views, even at night are quite impressive and London looks so vast! A sea of light below you as you make your way towards Heathrow.
