Eva Brown recalls her childhood in Estonia, escape to Germany and from there to the US. Likewise she reflects on her ties with Estonia, preserving her Estonian identity, and questions what being an Estonian means. 

The Kogu Me Lugu oral history initiative collects the stories and memories of people who have lived under or fled from the Soviet and/or German occupation in Estonia or migrated as a result of acts committed by these regimes.
