By some measures the birthplace of the modern railway, Darlington is a fascinating town in County Durham with a history dating back over 1,000 years. Set on the River Skerne just north of Yorkshire, the town is home to Norman, Victorian and 20th & 21st century landmarks, as well as a few hidden surprises.
On our walk around the town centre, we pass a number of interesting landmarks, including Darlington Station, DL1 Leisure Park, the River Skerne, St. Cuthbert's Church, Market Place, Market Hall, Darlington Clock Tower, Mechanic's Yard, Post House Wynd, Darlington Quoits Club, the Majestic Theatre and the Joseph Pease Statue.
